Akhil Chaudhary - Urgent Help for Stage 4 Lung and Brain Cancer

Auckland

In January 2022, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer. I am a non-smoker since birth and I have been diagnosed with a rare genetically non small cell Lung Cancer known as EGFR (Advanced Metastatic Cancer). I have undergone a Lung Surgery in March 2022 and was in Auckland Hospital for 11days.

After first cycle of Chemotherapy, I had sereve complications and my Doctor stopped further Chemotherapy. In April 2023, I went for a follow up scan and unfortunately, it has Advanced into Stage 4 Lung and Brain Cancer. As the result of this Stage 4 Cancer, the Doctor advised me to go onto the medication immediately. The medication is known as Tagrisso Osimertinib Tablets which is unfortunately not publicly funded in New Zealand.

I do not have a private health insurance policy to cover the cost of the medication which is NZD $110,000. I have created this page for your kind support and contribution to help me buy this medication, so I can fight this Cancer and survive. I wish to spend more time with my family and friends and with the wider community. I have been a proud New Zealander and serving the wider community for the last 20 years.

This news has devastated me and my family and has impacted my life drastically. Your kind contribution of any amount towards this vital medication to fight this Stage 4 Cancer will be very highly appreciated and it will help me to survive. If you wish, I am happy to provide my medical report.

Thank you for your kind generosity towards saving my life.

I would like to sincerely thank each and everyone of you who kindly donated and helped me to buy Tagrisso (Osimertinib).

It was an expensive medication and I was advised by Oncologist at Auckland hospital to take that Tablet. The total cost for 18 months was $99,000 and with your kind support and donation I was able to purchase the medication to make sure it served the purpose and to save my life .

Even though there was a shortfall in December 2024 purchase it was your kind donation which almost got me through.

I would like to inform you that Tagrisso in now funded from January 2025 I am no longer seeking any funding for Tagrisso (Osimertinib) now . Please do not donate any more for Tagrisso.
