Help us represent New Zealand at the 2025 global Forum on Domestic Violence in the 1980 Hague Convention in Brazil!
Nationwide
This year, we’ve been invited to Brazil to meet with frontline advocates, legal experts, and policy leaders working to protect survivors and reform international custody laws. This trip is a vital step in building a global alliance to challenge unsafe returns and advocate for urgent change in New Zealand’s approach to the 1980 Hague Convention.
Last year, Samantha spoke at the first-ever global conference on Family Violence in 1980 Hague Convention cases in South Africa. Sharing her story alongside other survivors helped spark trauma-informed training for judges in the UK and Wales. But the work is far from over. This year we aim to send two Board members to Brazil, Samantha & Braden.
The conference is from 27th October - 30th October 2025
We also shared our story in the Breaking Silence Season 3 documentary, https://youtu.be/8h01MNcPFKU alongside the lawyer who supports our mahi.
It’s a powerful glimpse into the realities we’re fighting to change.
If you’d like to partner with us or learn more, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can protect families and rewrite the rules.
Supporting the safe parent and their children who have fled family violence to the safety of NZ, who are now facing return orders under the Hague Convention.
