Support Peter and I as we move to South Asia where I will be a voluntary Legal Fellow with International Justice Mission for one year.
International
As many of you know, Peter and I will be leaving for South Asia in early September for a year as I will be undertaking a Legal Fellowship with International Justice Mission (IJM).
IJM is a non-profit human rights agency whose mission is to protect the poor from violence by rescuing victims, bringing criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety and strength, and helping local law enforcement build a safe future that lasts. Its 2030 vision is to catalyze a global revolution that will rescue millions, protect half a billion and make justice for the poor unstoppable. As a Legal Fellow I will be involved in legal research to assist those working on casework, law reform and capacity building.
My fellowship is unpaid, however we are fortunate that Peter will be able to continue earning in his current job from South Asia which means we do not need to raise funds for our daily living expenses. However, we do have some one off expenses and we would really appreciate it if you would be willing to partner with us to cover some or all of these costs.
We would really appreciate any support you are able to provide to go towards meeting some of these expenses. We would also very much appreciate your prayers during this time. If you are interested in praying for us regularly and being updated, please let me know.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Some of our costs will be approximately:
Flights: $2,000
Visas: $600
Vaccinations: $2,000
Travel Insurance: $2,000
Ongoing Counselling: $1,400
Initial Set Up Costs: $500
