Lions Junior Cycle Park Overview

The Lions Junior Cycle Park is all about providing a controlled environment in which children can encounter real-life cycling situations, focussing on road safety. It will be used year-round by local schools, preschools and families as well as the many visiting families who holiday in Gisborne all year round.

Located on repatriated land on Centennial Marine Drive, the Lions Junior Cycle Park is ideally situated to add value to the region's leisure offering. It is positioned:

Adjacent to Midway city beach.

In the south eastern corner of the popular Adventure Playground.

Across the road from the Olympic Pools.

Opposite the Midway Surf lifesaving Club complex.

At the terminus of the newly constructed beachside Oneroa Cycle/Walk Way.

Based on the layout of the highly successful Napier Cycle Park, the main elements of the park will include:

Full fencing (to a swimming pool standard) to ensure young users are safely contained Adjacent to Midway city beach.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
