On the morning of Tuesday 14 February, our whānau in Waiohiki were devastatingly impacted by cyclone Gabrielle.
All our whānau in Waiohiki are safe and dry but have lost their homes and possessions due to the flooding. Over 160 whānau members were immediately evacuated to Waiohiki marae.
As the Hawke's Bay region is declared a State of Emergency, our whānau impacted need your support.
On Wednesday 15 February our whānau were safely relocated from Waiohiki marae and are now staying at Waipatu marae. Thank you to our Waipatu whānau for looking after our whānau.
Our Waiohiki Kaumatua, Kuia and whānau will work collectively as one to determine how the funding is managed and distributed in Waiohiki.
With your aroha and strength, we are humbly asking you to share amongst your whanau, loved ones, friends and community in Aotearoa and overseas to contribute for the clean up and rebuild costs of our whānau in Waiohiki and to all whānau who needs our immediate support.
You can reach Leevy Taukamo on leevy_taukamo@hotmail.com if you have any questions.
Ka nui te aroha,
Da Lane Whānau
All the proceeds will go towards all our Waiohiki whānau for the clean up and rebuild our Tūrangawaewae.
