Wairau Hedgehog Help

$652 donated
Given by 9 generous donors in over a year

This is a way to give to support sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs in Marlborough.

Marlborough

I help local wild hedgehogs in need - those who come to me are injured, sick or orphaned. I work with a local vet and supporters to rehabilitate hedgehogs to go back into the wild. I take care to release them in hedgehog friendly areas where they will be as safe as possible and present little risk to native species. I fund this work out of my own pocket and with donations from supporters. I am always ready to accept gifts of money to help pay for hedgehog food, veterinary medications and petrol to collect animals in need. I have been doing this work for nine years and rehabilitated well over 100 hedgehogs.

Use of funds

Cat/dog food suitable for hedgehogs (wet and dry), Vitapet milk, medications such as advocate and antibiotics prescribed by the vet, feeding syringes, petrol to collect animals in need when finders can not deliver to me.

Donations still appreciated  22 September 2020

Although I have the wonderful new big ticket item - the incubator! (thank you so much btw!) - I always appreciate donations to help with the general care of wild hedgehogs found in the Marlborough area. Spring is underway and the hedgehogs are slowly waking up - some the worse for wear from a tough winter hibernation.
