Help replace lost Rugby gear in the floods ❤️
Wairoa, Hawke's Bay
Tena Koe Whanau Ma,
On the 25th June 2024, Wairoa was once again hit with another week of catastrophic rain and flooding, which was not only a detriment to Wairoa its self but the Hawkes Bay region. Rugby in this area is a means to give our tamariki an outlet, show them there are other avenues in life, and to show the rest of Aotearoa there is some meke home grown talent in Wairoa. Well this week has not only physically effected us as a region, but it has mentally effected our tamariki who play for our teams, with some of our players losing (once again), absolutely EVERYTHING!
I know we may not be able to buy them all a fully kitted whare, but what we can do with your generosity, is raise enough putea to be able to buy them Rugby boots, mouthguards and a new Rugby uniform (as each player was issued their uniforms at the start of the season), to help continue to give that escape from reality.
From the bottom of our heart we can't thankyou enough already for just reading our panui.
Nga mihi nui
I (Irene Raihania nee Haupokia-Rerehau-Richards) am the Manager of both the Wairoa Panthers 11th Grade Rugby team & Wairoa Tigers 12th Grade Rugby team, as well as the assistant coach for the 11th Grade.
