Providing a modern and magnificent facility available for all of the Waitaki District.
Nationwide
Support our new community facility and make the Waitaki District proud!
The Waitaki Event Centre Charitable Trust has been formed to drive the fundraising campaign for the six-court stadium and seeks your financial support NOW!
More than just a Sports Stadium, our Waitaki Event Centre will provide the entire community with a place to come together with facilities for Club meetings, Performances, Conferences, Sports and activities for all ages.
Doug and Donna Hurst have generously pledged to match every dollar given to the project by local families and businesses, up to $5 million, to help create a "wonderful legacy for the community".
The Waitaki District Council has committed up to $10 million towards the project, as well as other regional businesses.
We are optimistic the $5 million could be matched - "plus more" - by November, which would keep the project on track for a 2024 opening.
A project of this magnitude would be an excellent way of securing employment, supporting local business and, equally importantly, would provide all our residents with a sense of actually doing something positive, in these times of negativity, for our district.
To raise funds for a recreational facility for the Waitaki District Community.
All proceeds will go towards the construction of the Waitaki Event Centre.
Thank you for your very kind donation towards the Waitaki Event Centre. Kind regards Adair Craik
