Hello everyone. It's been a good while since I put and update up and a lot has happened! Since getting to the south Island we've been treated to some amazing scenery and even more amazing people. We passed through the Richmond ranges, Nelson Lakes, all of Canterbury and just finished up in the Otago and Queenstown Lake districts, it's been plenty of wonderful mountains climbs, deep valley river walking and the ever present inescapable mud! We have reached Te Anau now. Which means, It's the last week and a bit of this epic trip across Aotearoa. It's a strange feeling to be nearly at the end. On one hand I'm very excited to eat something other then couscous and noddles, and on the other I'm going to deeply miss all the amazing people that we've both met, walked with and been inspired by. It's been so cool to also raise money for Parent 2 Parent, and share the work they do with people on the trail. Will post and update at the bottom. Bluff here we come !

    Hello Everyone.

It's been a minute since I've done an update, but lots has happened! I reach the end of the North Island last week, and as much as the end point was reasonably underwhelming (a small rock with a plaque). I was so happy to have finished up the North Island not feeling to tired and my feet being in pretty good shape considering the kms done so far 😂. Getting stuck into the top of the South Island and will send another update once I get out of the gnarly Richmond Ranges!

Thank you again to everyone who has donated so far, it's truly incredible to have raised this much so far and I look forward to seeing where in SibSupport we best put it to use!

    Cheers

    Sam

Hello everyone. We have just reached Huntly! After Russel. We crossed through a few forests, a beach or two and found ourselves in Puhoi. Kayaked down the river and was meet by some familiar faces (Mum & Dad) who took us in for a great feed and a welcomed break for a couple days. Before heading on through to the North Shore, passing through my old highschool which was very surreal! Staying with a few friends along the way, until we reached Auckland Central and then finished off in Onehunga. We then caught the train through to Huntly. As a few fellows hikers suggested jumping ahead of the Drury/Pokeno section as the trail was a lot of town walking and pretty basic so worth the skip! So incredible to see that I've reached my fundraising goal already and there is still so much of the journey left. Thank you again so much to everyone following along. Bring on the Mighty Waikato 🤙

Hey Everyone, We have reached our stay just past Russell and I thought I would put an update up of the adventure so far! Over the past week and abit we covered two forests, done some kayaking and lots of road walking! Stayed with some wonderful people along the way and a few hostels. Which has been great to have a proper shower and not just a rinse in the creek! Heading off tomorrow along some more roads and then some coast. Feet and body feeling good, even made abit of a trail family with some Swiss and German folks we've met so far. Which has made for great memories already. Thank you again so much for all the donations it's amazing to be so close to my goal!
