Standing in faith with Cade and his family, offering prayer, love, and support as they walk this cancer journey.
Taupo, Waikato
I’m creating this page for my dear friend Cade who is a devoted husband and a loving dad to 2 young girls with another baby on the way.
Cade is known by many for his reliability, generosity, and willingness help. Since sharing his story, so many people have reached out with messages about how he’s helped them over the years, never expecting anything in return.
Just 2 months after Cade and Tersa found out they were expecting their 3rd child, their world was turned upside down. Cade was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and they have since learned it has spread to his lungs and bones.
Even as his health declined, Cade continued pushing through — trying to finish renovations on their home and keep providing for his family. But cancer changes everything. As he now begins treatment, he is no longer able to work. The physical toll is immense, and the financial pressure is growing, all while they care for their young daughters and prepare to welcome a new baby.
This fundraiser is to help ease that burden — covering essential living expenses and giving Cade the space to focus on what truly matters: his health and time with his family.
Sometimes the people who need help the most are the least likely to ask. Cade has always been someone others could rely on — now it’s our turn to stand beside him.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a real and meaningful difference. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page or keeping Cade and his family in your thoughts and prayers means so much.
Cade is a dear friend of us, and our families are closely connected, which is why supporting him in this season means so much to us.
The funds raised will ease financial pressure by covering basic living costs, travel for treatment, and care for the family during this time.
Update on Cade's yourney 14 March 2026
On 13 March Cade had a good appointment with the doctors. They feel positive about Cade’s prognosis and the cancer in his thyroid gland.
The plan is to do surgery to remove everything in his neck. There is some risk because the cancer is close to the nerves that control his vocal cords. They will try to save the nerve, but if the cancer is attached they may have to remove it. This could affect his voice. There is also a big risk that it could affect his ability to swallow, which could mean he might need extra support like a feeding tube.
After surgery he will receive radioactive iodine treatment. They will start with one session and then do tests to see how well his body responds. Many people respond well to this treatment, and the hope is that it will also help clear the cancer in his lungs.
He has also been referred to a spinal specialist regarding the cancer in his back, as they are still deciding on the best treatment for that. We will need to wait to hear from that specialist.
The surgery is expected to happen in about 6weeks, although it could be anywhere between 6 and 12 weeks. They will try to get him in as soon as possible.
Thank you to everyone for the love, prayers, and support. It truly means so much to us during this time.
