We’re reaching out to our community for support to help ease the financial pressure so Lakes parents can focus fully on Lake’s healing.

Talofa lava everyone
Lake was diagnosed with High-Risk AML (acute myeloid leukaemia) in November 2025 and has been receiving treatment at Starship Hospital. Since then, he has undergone three intensive rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. It has now been over four months of treatment, and while the journey has been incredibly challenging, Lake continues to show bravery and strength.
His parents, Ria & Colin have been living between hospital and home, alternating nights with Lake, while the other stays home to care for Lake’s older brother, Luca.
After exhausting their available leave, both parents have had to reduce to part-time work hours so they can continue providing the constant care Lake needs during treatment and recovery.
With humility, we are reaching out to our community for support to help ease the financial pressure during this time so the family can focus fully on Lake’s healing.
Funds raised will help support practical needs including:
• Daily travel to and from Starship Hospital while one parent remains with Lake and the other cares for his brother at home
• Reduced household income and to support living costs
• Preparing a safe and sanitised home environment for Lake’s return following his bone marrow transplant, and basic home monitoring equipment
If you’re unable to contribute financially, your prayers and sharing this page with others is more than enough.
From the bottom of our hearts, fa’afetai tele lava for standing with Lake and our family.
I am Lake's Uncle and sibling of his Mum
Travel: Trips between home and Starship.
Home Care: Sanitisation & specialised nutrition for Lake.
Monitoring: Equipment for Lake’s vitals and comfort including medical-grade thermometers, air filtration or purifiers, and additional sanitation and hygiene supplies to help reduce infection risk and keep him safe during recovery.
Stability: Keeping life steady for Lake while his parents navigate this intensive season including childcare when needed, day-to-day needs, and time away from work.
Rest in Love Lakey 18 March 2026
Talofa lava family & friends,
After a long and hard-fought battle with AML, our beloved Lakey has now found peace in heaven. True to his strength and courage, Lakey fought until the very end and went to be with his Maker at 11:07am today (18/03/2026).
This page was originally created to support Lakey’s parents during his healing journey. We will now continue to use it to help give Lakey the beautiful send-off he deserves.
With humility, we once again reach out to our community for support — whether financially, through prayer, or simply by sharing this page. Your kindness will help ease the burden on his parents and little brother during this incredibly difficult time.
