Raise the Roof for Omahu & Triple Gem

Wangapeka was borne out of love and the ideals of dana: buildings were built with generous hours of labour and money donated. Now, in our 51st year we need to build the capital to help maintain some of our significant buildings.

OMAHU:

Omahu was built with an expansive vista at a high-point overlooking the Wangapeka Valley. It has supported innumerable long-term retreats over the years. However, since it's building in 1994, age, weather, possums, pigs and rodents burrowed their way quietly into & around the structure. While much loved the dwelling never received the maintenance it deserved, as carting materials uphill remained a challenge. More recently, we undertook a massive project which created a proper driveway to Omahu and thus we have an easier way to bring materials & start repairs.

So now it is our membership’s opportunity to perhaps not only share their memories but ensure the full repair of Omahu roof, walls and rodent proofing. We have a fantastic team, including Ethan Mills, gifting their Christmas Holidays to do the work for FREE, and yet we need to raise funds to buy materials for all of this to happen.

DUMO:

Dumo's earthen roof has sadly reached it's end, now letting water into the rest of the structure. We need to investigate it and replace the roof before it's too late & before Tarchin's Retreat.

OTHER REPAIRS:

All donations will go directly to long-awaited restoration on our buildings to ensure Wangapeka has the potential to continue transforming beings.
