Lets get these girls their bathroom!!!!!!

Bay of Plenty

Life has thrown this incredible couple everthing it possibly can, from a major accident that Chris was involved in a couple of years ago that nearly claimed her life. But it claimed her leg and her life and her future she was building with her partner Lisa. Their charmed country life suddenly, horrendously turning into a place of pain and with the house being not designed for a now disable Chris who was unable to work.

Its a simple thing we might take for granted, a bathroom to refresh and awake us to face the day.

After so many curve balls and brick walls and absolute disappointment and knock and falls, we as her friends can take no more.

PLEASE READ LISA'S WORDS BELOW AND WHAT THEIR LIFE IS NOW AND HOW MUCH THEY NEED THEIR FRIENDS FAMILY COLLEGUES COMMUNITY AND COUNTRY TO PITCH IN

13 weeks ago our bathroom was ripped out to be renovated into a wet room for Chris to be able to safely shower and toilet herself when they got down to the core wood it was found there was old bora damage to a lot of the framing and sarking... which we didn’t know about and was there before we purchased the house.. we did all the usual house reports prior to buying the house, we had renovated it on the inside prior to Chris accident and no sign of it ....all progress then stopped for ACC to investigate further .. they have now said for them to move forward with the bathroom we are responsible to fix the structure and damage before they will progress $25000 ... so for 12 weeks we have lived in a motel, a flat and now we’re in our guest room at home and driving 5 mins down the road to have showers etc .. we don’t have the funds to fix the damage .. ACC pay a small amount to Chris due to her being self employed and that’s not even enough to pay the bills of her company so we are basically living on my wage .. we are devastated as you can imagine...

Along with this news we have also found out the damage in chris’s remaining foot is so bad she will have to have that removed within the next two years... she has a couple of operations coming up in the next few months as well...

No one wants to be on her, all we want is a bathroom, to be in our own home with each other and our animal. WE want to build our future what ever that may be without fighting just to get the daily things done and we now know that this journey is far from over.

This cannot be done without this incredible community, from the love and support that Chris and Lisa have shown to hundreds over the years they just need this little more from us.

Lets get these strong brave resilient warrior women the home that they need for whatever the future holds.

Use of funds

Chris and Lisa need the funds to deal with under structure of their house to have a purpose built bathroom.. ACC will do the bathroom but they will not repair the structural damage underneath and will not build until that is done
