Our colleague Amber suggested we find a way to get water bottles to needy students. We've teamed up with KidsCan to make it happen!
Auckland
Our water bottles were donated to a class recently. The gorgeous thank you cards and messages from the students touched our hearts and reminded us that having your own water bottle is something many of us take for granted. And so this means students may not drink as much water as they should during the school day, which may then impact their ability to concentrate and learn.
For every $5 raised, we will buy two water bottles and gift them to KidsCan.
And to help get things started the Spark Foundation will match the first 250 bottles sponsored (by your donations) with another 250 bottles!
This means $625 donated will fund the purchase of 250 water bottles and we’ll also match the first 250 bottles with another 250 paid for by the Spark Foundation.
We hope you can help with a donation and feel free to share this page!
Following the generosity of one of our Spark colleagues (Rob) and the suggestion from another colleague (Amber) we’ve created this Givealittle page.
Spark Foundation was established in 2011 and is the charitable organisation for Spark New Zealand. Spark Foundation’s vision is that no New Zealander is left behind in a digital world and its mission is to accelerate towards digital equity. It does this by focussing on three strategic pillars: Digital access, digital skills and pathways and digital wellbeing.
The funds raised will be used to purchase plastic drink bottles (Bisphenol A (BPA) free ones) and we’ll donate them to KidsCan for distribution to schools around New Zealand.
Water bottles delivered this week! 18 May 2017
Thanks again for supporting our Water Bottles for Students campaign!
The water bottles are on their way to students this week so they can stay hydrated and better able to learn in school!
With the help of KidsCan, 750 water bottles are making their way to classes in Whakarewarewa School, Taumarunui Primary School, Gilberthorpe School and Windley School.
We had some of our older style bottles available and so bumped up our matching amount of bottles.
