Shadow was quite dramatic heading to the vet this morning to get his rabies shots for travel to Scotland. 54 days to go and Shadow has started all his health checks and vet visits in the run up to flying.
Thanks again to everyone who donated and supported the cost of the vet trips, pet carriers and flights. Your support made an 11 year old Esme very very happy!!!
Thank you for your kind offers so far, we are astounded by the support to cover the $3k pet carrier costs to get Shadow to Scotland with us. We have raised the goal as people have offered to still donate towards the vet fees, pet crate and cattery costs. Which is amazing.
So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Shadow is so overwhelmed (as you can see....) with the support from people as we fundraise to get him home to Scotland.
So what happens if we go over our goal? Well we do have the vets costs and the pet carrier to purchase for travel so it certainly wont go wrong. And as with all plans no doubt the costs will end up more than anticipated.
I never in a million years expected this much support when I decided to do this. Thank you for every single donation and kind words. After a few difficult years I think I needed that!!!

The quote I was given for pet relocation was from Auckland so we are looking at $3000 as we live in Christchurch so Shadow needs to fly from the south island. So many things to get organised with vaccinations and special cages so I expect this will increase as I work out the details with the pet relocation company (who have been fab, but there is only one in the south island leaving no choice sadly!)
Wow, only 4 hours after launching this fundraising campaign we already have a fifth of the amount we need to get Shadow home to Scotland. I cant wait to see Esme after school to tell her. We are so grateful to everyone for the donations and the kind messages. Our hearts feel warm and fuzzy!
