Weiti River restoration project - removing the Wakatu

We are thrilled to announce that the Hibiscus & Bays Local Board has agreed to a grant request to the Orewa Marae to fund the removal of the Wakatu vessel from the Weiti River! 🚢🌊

Heartfelt thanks to the Local Board and the Orewa Marae for seeing the value in restoring this beautiful site and we look forward to working with them to remediate this area once the heavy lifting has been done. This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the support and efforts of our community. Your voices were heard, and together, we will make a significant impact on the health of our river.
