West Otago vintage club maintenance on Stella the traction engine

In February 1958 some local farmers called a meeting to save vintage tractor and machinery after this meeting first rally was held on 26 March 1960 at bob hamiltons property the club rooms opened on 12 April 1985 we extended this in 1997 and purchased section across the road and lane shed built we have since purchased section next door and we are raising also raising funds to build large shed we as a club are after donations for our steam engine STELLA 1912 5 hp Marshall which needs major repairs done and doesn’t come cheap she is the heart of our club she need boiler repair and new tubes it is important to keep these machines alive they made this country and bring a lot of joy to thousands of people .
In February 1958 the club was started by some local farmers calling a meeting at the Kelso hall.Today we have a strong membership and are involved in a lot of events our collection is growing rapidly and things we own need maintainace to keep them going.

The money that was raised to fix Stella has gone towards repairing her boiler which is being done in Invercargill with the working bees that some members have been able to help with
