Fundraiser for Whakaki Marae DIY 2016
We're pleased to announce that Whakaki Marae has been selected for Marae DIY in 2016, so we need to fundraise for this event.
Hawke's Bay
The MaraeDIY team will be with us from Thursday 18th February to Sunday 21st February. During these 4 days, we will be giving our wharenui some much needed TLC - including replacing the roofing and cladding, as well as insulating these areas. There are other improvements that will be included in our plans, with the intention of completing this work as a phase two after MaraeDIY.
About us
Whakaki Marae is a community-based organisation run by the hapu of Whakaki. The marae is used for a range of activities, including whanau hui, wananga, other social and community events, and tangihanga. The marae has close links to the Whakaki Lake Trust and local land holders.
