Help needed to fund a working bee that will clean up and restore Di & Ron's house to a more liveable and safe condition.

Northland

We have organised a working bee this coming Easter, with the aim of restoring Di and Ron’s house and surrounding land back into a liveable and manageable state.

Di and Ron live out on a remote block of whanau land, in the far north.

The house is situated within beautiful and peaceful bush surroundings, overlooking million-dollar coastal views. But aside from the spectacular views, the house and land is completely remote and cut off from any services, such as electricity supply, sewage and water.

Rain water is stored from off the roof. Electricity for the lights coming from old solar panels with even older batteries to store the electricity. And an old generator, which when it is not broken down, for running the washing machine.

The bush around the house has now overgrown so much, that it has become a fire hazard.

The working bee will try to get the house and surroundings into some order, removing foliage that is a fire hazard from around the house, fixing the roof and rewiring the solar panels.

Removing and clearing debris from the around the property, and making the house more liveable.

Any donations to help pay for equipment hire, that is needed to accomplish this clean up, would be hugely apricated.
