Kia ora koutou Whanau and the wider community

This page is being set up to raise money for the Tōku Ara Wellbeing Curriculum, a five week residential program designed for all Year 10 students at Whangamata Area School on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is a transformative approach toward enhancing student wellbeing.

With the vision to connect students to self, to others and to the land, Tōku Ara (My pathway) aims to develop a culture of sharing, building and maintaining positive relationships, adopting a healthy and active lifestyle and treating everyone and the environment with respect. The Tōku Ara mission is to set students on a path of personal growth, and support students to discover and develop their potential, through challenging experiences within their local environment.

In order to sustain a curriculum like Tōku Ara for all future Rangatahi (youth) in our community, funding is required. There are some financial realities to a curriculum like this and we want to keep Tōku Ara accessible and equitable to all students moving forward. Therefore, resourcing and funding Toku Ara in a sustainable way is crucial.
