Raising funds to conduct a pre-feasibility study

Canterbury

WHoW Charitable Trust was established to develop and facilitate the creation of an aquasports park co-locating world-class whitewater, surf and cable wake in Canterbury.

The park will cater for people of all ages and abilities, from dabblers to elite sports people, including providing a training facility for Olympians and water safety training for school children. It will be a place where individuals, families, groups and teams can experience the great aquatic outdoors in a safe and controlled environment.

A potential site for the aquasports park has been identified in the Kaiapoi, North Canterbury red zone, only 20 minutes from Christchurch International Airport. Waimakariri District Council and Enterprise North Canterbury have indicated their support of the project concept and future funding, conditional on the outcome of a pre-feasibility study.

The pre-feasibility study that involves commissioning reports including transport, three waters, planning (including transport) and land use, cultural, market research and financial assessments.
