Those signs of of frustration -being a bit over being in a wheelchair - but we know these to be good signs indeed. Bones and internal organs seem to be healing well but we won't know for sure until further tests are done.

Saoirse has done some school visits but is not yet ready to go back to school.

She celebrated her 7th birthday in style at home with friends and family recently.

Her spark is back and she is definitely on the road to recovery.

We express our deep gratitude to all the folk supporting the whanau, through givealittle, meal trains, and all the other ways that has enabled her family to focus on healing without having to worry about all the day to day stuff so much.

Thank you all for your wonderful generosity. It is allowing Saoirse's parents to be caring for her back home rather than having to commute to hospital daily, and this makes the world of difference. Her recovery will include the use of a wheelchair and walker for at least the next 2 months. Tests in 3-4 months will give us more insight into the full implications for her journey to recovery.

Hi all you amazing folk who have helped Saoirse and family so quickly. Saoirse is stable in hospital, and making good progress. She's not out of the woods yet, but is definitely heading in a positive direction.

Thanks so much for all the support, here at givealittle, and various other ways in the community. I'm awed by the kindness of spirit you have shown.

We're not sure where this journey will take Saoirse and her family yet - there is more to learn about how this will impact on her. I'll do my best to meet the balance of keeping you updated while allowing the family the privacy to all do their healing around this event.

Note: Should there be any excess funds raised (this is by no means a given) - and those who know this family personally will attest to their integrity - then such excess will be passed forward to others in need on givealittle.

    Naku noa na
