Help Janete recover after a sudden heart attack— raising funds for her treatment, rehab, and care so she can regain her strength and joy.
Bay of Plenty
Never in a million years did I imagine our family would face something like this.
Our mum, Janete, lives in Brazil and was visiting my brother in Montevideo when everything changed. While out for a walk, she suddenly collapsed on the footpath.
By the grace of God, two incredible people — a nurse and a doctor — were passing by. They began CPR and called an ambulance. After nearly an hour, they brought her back. Mum was rushed to hospital, where doctors confirmed she had suffered a heart attack.
She’s now receiving treatment. Her heart is still weak and carries the scars of the trauma, but she’s alive — and fighting.
Mum is 74, full of life, active, and has always cared for others — her parents and in-laws. Now it’s our turn to care for her.
I live in New Zealand with my son Otavio and we’ve flown to be with her. My brother Alex, in Montevideo, has been caring for her since the incident, and our sister in Canada is on her way so we can all support her recovery together.
We’re raising funds to help with her medical expenses, the bill at the hospital was USD65,000.
Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your love, kindness, and support.
Janete is my beloved mother. I’m her daughter, currently living in New Zealand, and along with my siblings in Uruguay and Canada, we’re supporting her recovery after she suffered a stroke while visiting my brother in Montevideo.
Funds will go toward hospital bills, rehabilitation, medication, and ongoing care to support Janete’s recovery and well-being.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. :-)
