Women About Sound has been dedicated to supporting women and gender-diverse musicians, and we need your help to continue our mission.
Auckland
Women About Sound is a community organisation that aims to support women and gender-diverse musicians in Aotearoa in developing skills and confidence on their artistic journeys. We aim to address the gender imbalance within the music scene in Aotearoa and foster a diverse, flourishing music community.
Women About Sound has hosted workshops, performance evenings and mentoring programmes in songwriting and music production to provide a safe space for women and gender-diverse individuals to hone their skills and connect with other musicians.
We want to continue our mission of supporting women and gender-diverse musicians by providing workshops and opportunities for connection over the next year.
We aim to provide a number of online and in-person workshops that will focus on songwriting, music production and mentoring. The workshops provide a chance to upskill, gain confidence and also meet other women and gender-diverse musicians. Connecting with others and being part of a community is integral to musicians' well-being and sustainability.
We have received some funding, but we still have a shortfall, so we need a little help from some generous folks.
Women About Sound has been dedicated to supporting women and gender-diverse musicians for the past 9 years, and we need your help to continue our mission. Please donate and support our mission to ensure the music community is a welcoming space for all.
The money raised will be used to run both online and in-person workshops that focus on songwriting skills, music production and also a chance to share a song for feedback from experienced songwriters.
thanks so much for the generous support
