Water projects! These are almost complete supplying water to 2 clusters of homes.

Naramchhap has 34 houses with an average of 6 people per household for a population of 204+ and Charghare has 22 households of approximately 6 people per home for a population of 132+. For a total of approximately 56 homes and 336 villagers. This is one of the poorest areas in the Nawalparasi district of Nepal, and in the most need.

These families will now stay on their land and grow cabbages, Cauliflower and spinach. FOR SALE!

What the women say " we can't express our thanks with words". Women who had no running water will stay on their land and grow vegetables to feed their families and to sell. This is life changing indeed.

We are going to put a teacher into a primary school so rural it only educates children until they are 12. They will stay until the are 14, rather than dropping out of school and being faced with back-breaking farm work or the threat of child marriage. Together we will pay the salary and will provide the resources ( computers and Video camera ) to bring the world and the possibility of secondary education to a new generation of Nepali Children. We are spreading the impact of education and bringing hope to the children and their families. We continue to provide micro loans to the women of the area.

Rinu has now been studying engineering for two years. She came from a remote village and with the support of many New Zealanders she has been enabled to study for a degree. We are especially proud of her. One day soon she will return to support her people. Below is the video which describes the work we have done over the years.

Celebrate our achievement! We have built a home for these dear people who had lost their son and hope. We have provided a real home and blankets. The photo attached is the shelter they lived in. Our goal now is to build a bed and shelf. A very few of us could make this possible.

We are hoping to achieve this soon... this will allow us to give a tax rebate on your donations. Till then our latest project is sending remote rural farming women to agricultural training....to improve production. Each of the collectives is aiming to become totally self sufficient suppliers to their own local communities. Its a wonderful goal.

Please take a look at the short video about what we have achieved so far. It's an incredible journey. And it gos on. Its called" I said Yes! "

  • Educating Rinu

We have been able to sponsor Rinu to study for a three year degree in Civil engineering.

She hopes to be able to return to the collective and to help bring water to more remote clusters of houses.

By our her personal support, living, books, travel etc for three years the Nepali govt agreed to give her scholarship which has covered her tuition and all fees.

Rinu was the top scholar in her school. With out this support she would not have been able to study.

  • CASD Nz medical clinic in Nepal

      17 January 2021

I am reopening to share good news. Just before Covid 19 struck we hosted and managed a medical clinic in Newalparasi. We invited registered doctors and the nurses who have been trained Through the CASD education support channels and saw hundreds of women who who were seeking medical advice. From this we were able to support three women who needed surgery for prolapsed uterus. With out our financial support and the generosity of the doctors and staff they would not have had treatment.
