Keeping preemie babies warm, by buying pure merino for me to knit for them.
Bay of Plenty
Hi, I’m Fiona ;-) I’m disabled, and unable to leave our house due to an on going medical condition.
When our children were born, we struggled to find warm clothes for them as they were so tiny! Luckily, our local Tauranga maternity ward had a supply of 000000 sized clothes for our 32 week preemie baby. So, I’m repaying the favour…
To stop from going crazy with boredom, I knit and crochet. At present I’m knitting hats, booties and singlets for preemie babies (in hospitals in the NICU and SCBU), then will be doing a range of other hats and blankets for kidney dialysis patients.
I’d like the opportunity to keep knitting, but pure merino wool (best for warmth) is very expensive. Please, will you consider a small amount to fund my purchase of wool for these projects?

Just updating those of you keeping up with donations. In the end, I made 40 wool adult hats for the kidney foundation, and 70preemie beanies, 25 pairs of booties and 6 singlets. I still have more wool, so probably will get another 30 out if it.
This is a photo of the latest lot going out. (2 lots have gone already).
Thank you again for your support!
Thank you so much you guys! it’s just something little I can help with. :-)
Thank you so much Aimee. It’s the least I can do- SCABU we’re awesome with our son, and we will be needing the kidney foundation with Jason’s transplant- so making hats etc will be just a ‘thank you’.
Thank you so much debbie, I really appreciate it! So if you call in for coffees, you might get put to work! Lol
Thank you so very much you guys, I really appreciate it! Thank you :-)
