In New Zealand, there is limited specialist treatment available. But there is hope. A clinic in the USA has shown remarkable results.

In the past six years, my incredible sister, Xavier, has faced the unimaginable challenge of enduring three traumatic brain injuries. It's been a journey filled with more time spent in rehabilitation than actually living life. Each injury, pushes her further away from the life she dreams of.
Over the last year her health was looking better but then in July, she suffered her third traumatic brain injury. The ordeal left her unconscious for a harrowing 30 minutes. She also suffered physical injuries, including damage to her ear canal, her neck, and the part of the brain responsible for visual processing. My heart broke for her, it felt like all the hard work in her recovery was swept away and she had to start all over again.
Xavier had the opportunity to visit an amazing clinic called CognitivFX in Utah after her second brain injury and saw an astounding 95% improvement. She could stay awake throughout the day, come over for dinner, talk on the phone for hours, go on long walks, things we take as normal. She could read, exercise, she was her intelligent, vivacious, driven self again. It was truly like my sister was back again, but then the 3rd injury happened and we lost all of that.
The clinic has recently reached out to Xavier, offering her a significant discount on her treatment.
I am reaching out to you, our friends and family, to help Xavier get treatment again. Your support will not only make it possible for her to do this but will be her lifeline to recovery.
Xavier is 10 years older than me, she has been my guiding star, my resilient rock, my deepest confidant, my biggest advocate and my big sister. Witnessing the change in her life over the last 6 years has been devastating.
The cost of the discounted treatment is NZD$8,000, plus travel costs. This covers the advanced medical procedures, the use of state-of-the-art technology, and the expertise of the specialised medical team that she so desperately needs.

Xavier has returned from treatment and is settling back at home. Treatment went really well, and she has already seen some improvement in function, which is such a relief. It did, however, identify some damage to the neck (during the latest fall) so she is back at home, and in the NZ system to address that. Thank you so much for your support. Xavier is finally back on computers (!!!) so will be in touch shortly!
