My sister who is currently palliative, suffering from terminal cancer would like to see her family particularly her nieces and nephews.
Waikato
Amanda Hapeta has been suffering with terminal mucinous carcinoma cancer for four years. This is a rare form of cancer which developed in the appendix for Amanda back in 2015. Upon being admitted to hospital in 2015 to have a burst appendix removed Amanda's diagnosed malignant pathology reports were not followed up on due to negligence and her cancer quickly progressed Unbeknown to Amanda. Early 2018 Amanda presented with a abnormal growing abdomin, an ultrasound was completed which showed malignant tumours the size of two six pound babies had developed in Amanda's bowels and smaller tumours were presenting themselves throughout her body. The lack of care given to Amanda in 2015 meant she become terminal with an expected life limit of five years.
Presently Amanda is in Christchurch hospital and has been for the last 30 days. Amanda now has a palliative plan put in place as nothing more can be done to improve her condition.
Amanda is now on limited time and has requested to see all the people that are important to her.
I Monique have six very important children who love their Aunty very much. Amanda has been an active figure throughout their young lives and they see Amanda like their second mother.
The purpose of this fundraiser would be to help raise enough funds to use for the travel cost and accommodation cost of Amanda's nieces and nephews as they reside in the North Island and need to get down to The South Island ASAP. Any extra funds would help other relatives or friends including Amanda's siblings that reside overseas and loved ones in the North Island.
Time is now of the essence and we all want the opportunity to spend time with Amanda particularly before her coherency reduces. The children in particular have strong need to be with their Aunty.
Travel/accommodation costs between North and South Island to be with a terminal Sister/Aunty on very limited time.
Thank you for blessing Amanda and her family 26 November 2019
Thank you to everyone for your kind generous spirit and displaying care toward Amanda throughout her last journey on this earth, Amanda read each comment from her donars and in her last days you all made her feel validated and loved. Amanda has now passed away and it is very diffucult knowing how final this is. Amanda truely found real love with her seven nieces and nephews and she got to spend her last two weeks with them. This process has been very hard for Amanda's family to comprehend as life for us won't be the same without Amanda. We will miss her infectious laugh the kids already miss her lectures and the moments they got to bake with her and help her cook. Amanda was a loyal caring sister and the feeling of her loss is Hugh. Thank you for blessing us where you could. A service will be organised at some stage over the next month as a celebration of Amanda's life. This will be held in the North Island with Amanda's urn. Further updates for this will be on my Facebook page.
