We've altered our goal and changed our close date - we are 3 weeks away from Portugal!
Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome Julian Lee and the team from **Seven Sharp** into our studio! He interviewed some of our dancers about what it means to represent New Zealand—a story that’s hard to capture in just a few sentences! While we were a bit nervous, being more accustomed to performing than talking, we’re excited to share our journey with everyone. Our story will be featured on the show this Tuesday, September 3rd, and we are incredibly grateful for this chance. Although our path to the Worlds only began a few months ago, each of us has been dancing and performing for many years. This truly feels like the culmination of hard work, perseverance, and, of course, a lot of fun! We also gave a "sneak peek" into one of our Casino Cabaret Night performance...a little bit of sparkle and feathers!
We are immensely grateful to everyone who has supported us in our fundraising efforts—from local corporates and businesses to our friends, family, whānau, and of course, our wonderful teachers. We promise to make you all proud! <3
Hey Everyone!
The countdown to Portugal is on, and we’re just 57 days away from the Opening Ceremony of the Championships! We’ll be heading to the charming town of Óbidos, our host for the competition. It’s only about an hour’s drive from Lisbon, Portugal's vibrant capital. Óbidos is a beautiful hilltop town surrounded by a stunning fortress wall and is a fantastic slice of medieval history. We’re soaking up so much about this amazing country and can’t wait to experience it all in person!
Meanwhile, our training has ramped up big time! Our teachers have been pushing us hard, perfecting those arm movements and nailing our timing. Every Sunday afternoon from now until October is dedicated to fine-tuning our routine—we’re determined to bring our A Game and make everyone back home in New Zealand proud!

Hi Everyone! Since returning from the NZDA’s in Christchurch, we’ve been busy gearing up for our dance exams in Tap, Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip Hop! We’re diving deep into our techniques and exploring new ways to express ourselves through dance. With exams just around the corner, there’s still a lot of practice ahead, but we’re excited for the challenge.
Once the exams are behind us, we'll shift our focus to preparing for Worlds. We are so grateful for our Legacy Company tutors - Okiwi Hawkins, Lucy Everett, Gemma Laing and Annie Henderson. They have spent countless hours working with us in the studio, preparing us for the stage and hyping our mahi - THANKS GUYS, YOU RULE!

We are thrilled to announce that PHALANX achieved REMARKABLE success at the NZDA National Dance Championships last week! 🌟 As **National Champions** in our division and recipients of the prestigious **Elite Gold Award**, we are incredibly proud of the dedication and talent shown by each member. We crushed it!
