Kia Ora! My name is Zack, and I'm a transgender man who lives in Wellington. I have been out and proud since I was 16 years old, and on HRT since I was 20.

Multiple times over the course of my transition I have requested to be added to the waiting list for transgender breast removal surgery (top surgery) in NZ and have been denied due to long wait times and lack of available care in my region. After a decade of living with my dysphoria, I am seeking top surgery through private care. The estimated cost of private care comes to $32,000 NZD, and includes hospital, anaesthetist and surgeon fees.

Top surgery would be life-changing for me. It would alleviate my primary source of dysphoria and allow me to move freely through my life without a (literal) weight on my chest. Things like exercise and swimming would be more accessible, and I would finally be able to live fully as a man without the body-image and social passing issues that come from being an E cup. Overall, my quality of life would greatly improve!

Any help towards my goal would be hugely beneficial in helping me live as my true, authentic self. This is something that I've dreamed of for a very long time, and I'm incredibly thankful to anyone who donates to help make it happen.

Use of funds

All money raised will be used towards paying for my surgery even if the goal is not met entirely! If I cannot reach my goal by more than $10,000, the money will be put in an account and not touched until I am able to fund the remaining amount.
