Zae the boy with the big Heart needs our support

  • Update for Zae and the funds that were recieved

      23 August 2019

Its hard to believe that it has been over two months since our gorgeous Zae passed away.

This page was never started with even the remote thought that Zae would die it was meant for his rehabilitation. Unfortunately money couldn't save our Zae but it certainly helped with the financial burden. Myself and the family have been overwhelmed with the generosity of everyone who donated to Zae, family friend and strangers alike.

The money has been used for the funeral and the remaining money will be used to fund some "Zae Wallace" memorial initiatives in the various sporting communities that he was passionate about.

Also mea/alofa (gifts/donations) have been dispersed to charities: CVICU Auckland Hospital and Heart for Youth as would have been Zae's wishes.

Once again my heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated and to the "Give a little" staff who have been very supportive.

"Rest In Peace our Zae you will always be missed and in our hearts forever" xxxx

      1 June 2019

Zaes fight is over and he has slipped away peacefully from us all today. He was surrounded by friends, family and limitless love and kindness.

Zaes family and close friends have been humbled by your support and love , and blessed with the realization he has touched so many lives in his to short time with us. The last weeks have been a terrible time for us all, but you have all made it just a little bit easier.

Givealittle funds will initially be used to help family with funeral expenses

He will always be in our hearts ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Just a quick note to say that I still think of your young man Zae. I never met him but his fight caught my heart, and he still has mine. I can't imagine how difficult living life must be for all who knew and loved him. Rest assured that he will always be thought of, even by total strangers like myself. I often catch myself thinking of you all and Zae and wonder how you all are. I truly hope that you're learning to smile again.

      Always in my thoughts

  • Update on Zae

      13 May 2019

Unfortunately I am unable to give the news that we are all waiting for as Zae remains the same in Auckland Hospital. He continues on the ventilator and ECMO machines and is in a medically induced coma. Rosa and whanau continue to be overwhelmed by the support they are receiving. They are so grateful for the amazing care that Zae is receiving from the medical and nursing staff at Auckland Hospital. As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for the family as Zae hangs in there.

  • Rosa and Family Overwhelmed

Rosa and whanau wish to express their gratitude for the generosity of friends, whanau and total strangers who have contributed to Zae's cause. They are overwhelmed that it has reached over $20,000 in such a short space of time. I think it shows the amount of respect and love there is for Zae and his whanau.

At the moment the money cannot help Zae however as he recovers it will undoubtedly make a huge difference to this amazing young man. Zae "the little bear with the big heart" continues to fight for his life.

Once again thank you from all Zae's family for this overwhelming response. I have added the below photo to remind people what a handsome young man Zae is.
