Providing disadvantaged young people with education and opportunities.
Nationwide
Education is a sustainable way to improve peoples lives living in severe poverty.
Whilst there are many organisations which seek to support education, a substantial gap exists for many young people whose only option is working on the family farm.
A decent job means that they can support not only themselves but contribute towards their family. People with jobs usually pay for their siblings education too.
I believe sustainability is important when volunteering time and also applying funds to a project. Too many foreign projects have been done that build schools or similar infrastructure and then walk away, thinking they have made a difference.
Computer classes in Laos Sep-Oct 2015 11 August 2015
I will be establishing a permanent computer teaching classroom in Luang Prabang for use by 200 Lao students. The school is free of charge as it is a charity school. The computer curriculum is being based on a UK computer curriculum. I will be in Laos for 3 months setting this up, training the trainers and implementing the programme with all students.
