Virtual Marathon for PWS Research 2016

$7,615 raised
Starts: 20 Mar 2016
Ends: 31 May 2016

Choose your own dates/times to complete our Virtual Marathon between March 20th and PWS Awareness Day at the end of May. It's easy and fun!

Nationwide

Between the start and end dates, walk or run your own chosen distances to complete either a full marathon (42km) or a half marathon (21km). Everyone has an opportunity to take part!

Our Virtual Marathon will officially begin at our PWSA(NZ) Family Camp in Hanmer Springs on Sunday March 20th, but participants can start their marathon anywhere.

Distances should be completed by the end of May, which is international PWS Awareness Month. Finish your marathon in style by 'Going Orange' on or near PWS Awareness Day, Friday May 27th!

To take part, just click 'HELP FUNDRAISE' to set up your page and get started. Keep us updated with your progress!

We can also provide sponsorship forms (hard copies) for your school or workplace - you may wish to collect sponsorship per km completed. Record sheets also available. Please email: jo.davies@pws.org.nz

All participants will receive a certificate on completion of their event. Walkers and runners will also receive orange PWS awareness wristbands (please let us know if you require more for marathon finale fundraising.)

All funds raised will be forwarded to the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research. The aim of this event is to raise funds for much needed research, but also to promote physical activity. Exercise is especially challenging for individuals who have PWS, yet essential to maintain health. We hope that many individuals who have PWS will enjoy the challenge of taking part.
