Growing great grapes and growing great kids
5 May 2016The viticulture industry is a major part of the Marlborough economy and community and supporting Kiwi Can is a way to positively impact the youngest members of the region.

“At Matua we more than tripled our fundraising goal for Drop Your Boss 2015 thanks to the enthusiasm of staff who put in donations, our parent company, Treasury Wine Estates which contributed to our tally and the Matua Marlborough social club members who attended a fundraiser dinner. In addition, we reached out to our contacts around the region and sought donations of various items to put up for auction. The event was very well planned and the organisation made it hassle free for us to be involved. Drop Your Boss at Bragato - what's it all about?
5 May 2016Drop Your Boss is an innovative fundraising initiative for Graeme Dingle Foundation Marlborough – it’s a fun and novel way for the viticulture industry, and it’s leaders, to significantly support the young people of the Marlborough region.
Background
The Drop Your Boss event was developed here in Marlborough in 2013, and we have since successfully organised three such events (two abseils and a skydive). Local bosses and community leaders (and their staff) raise funds to see them “drop”. The novelty of the Drop Your Boss event has seen it become a prime fundraising event for the Dingle Foundation nationally, with similar events held in regions throughout the country.
Fundraising for Kiwi Can
All funds raised through Drop Your Boss go toward the delivery costs of the Kiwi Can programme in local primary schools. Kiwi Can is a values and life-skills programme for kids aged 5-12 years. Research shows that Kiwi Can builds self-confidence, reduces bullying and reinforces positive behaviour. Kiwi Can is currently delivered in 7 primary schools across the Marlborough region, positively influencing over 700 kids every week.
