Taking on the Taupō Ultramarathon to support New Zealanders living with incurable breast cancer
My challenge
On 17 October 2026, I will take on the Taupō Ultramarathon—100 kilometers along the Great Lake Trails. It will be a huge physical and mental challenge, but every kilometer will have a purpose: raising funds for Sweet Louise.
I am taking on this challenge in memory of my mum, who passed away 25 years ago from incurable breast cancer. Her memory will be with me throughout every kilometer, and I hope this run will help other people and their families receive the support they need while living with this diagnosis.
Why Sweet Louise?
Sweet Louise provides practical, emotional and social support for New Zealanders living with incurable breast cancer. Its support helps members and their families live as well as possible, for as long as possible.
By supporting my run, you will help Sweet Louise continue providing one-to-one care, practical services, connection and meaningful experiences for people and families facing an incredibly difficult diagnosis.
Every donation, large or small, will help make a difference and will give me extra motivation when the kilometers get tough.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family or colleagues would also mean a great deal. Thank you for supporting me and Sweet Louise on this 100km journey.
