I Got Your Back Pack

Women's refuges are often bursting at the seams over the holiday season because family pressures and stresses increase. Most people in crisis circumstances accessing these support services have had to leave their homes with very little (if any) personal possessions, and this can be even more distressing over Christmas. I Got Your Back Pack provides emergency care packs to families in the care of safe houses and similar support agencies. The charity also recently opened Whare Tūmanako, a safe haven for those needing more time to heal before re-establishing themselves in the community. Your donation will help I Got Your Back Pack to meet the increased demand on their services over the Christmas period.

◉ ABOUT 10x10's 10 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS ◉

Over 50,000 Kiwi kids won’t have the Christmas of their dreams this year. For families living in poverty, struggling in the wake of COVID-19, or rebuilding their lives from family violence, the festive season isn’t a time of joy.

Instead, parents face increased pressure and stress to just put food on the table, let alone have the capacity to budget for presents and make it a magical time for their children.

However, there are some wonderful charities working hard to make sure Christmas can be a special time for New Zealand families.

For the next 10 days, we’re inviting you to give the gift of giving by donating just $10 to Kindness Collective Foundation, I Got Your Back Pack and The Aunties. All three of these charities have pitched at a 10x10 event before so you may already be familiar with the important mahi they are doing in the community.

We’re running this campaign in November so these organisations will receive the funds in time for their Christmas activity in December. Please join us and help make this Christmas a time to remember for New Zealand families.
