    Mr 10 did three laps around the school and 15 laps around the tennis courts today (self-reported results; not verified 😁).

    Mr 7 did a lap around the pump track.

    I got to finish out the challenge with the lunchtime circuit crew at Tapuae gym.

    Good spinning session at Tapuae gym for me today. Mr 10 ran four laps of the school.

    A calm morning was perfect for a run along the water, about 5km.

    The boys had their Polyfest performances today: no cardio, but a big and happy day nonetheless.

  • Day 9: Greenacres run and school loops

    A strong southerly made me avoid the waterfront today, I jogged up & down Greenacres Street, 35 mins. Screaming quads included!

    Mr 10 ran six school laps, Mr 7 jogged 14 laps around the tennis courts at school.

  • Day 8: lunchtime gym session

    Arms felt weak today, possibly from all the painting over the weekend. Another one in the bank 🤙

  • Day 7: paint / run / golf

    I squeezed in a little 4.5km run after another day of painting - the end is in sight for our little home project.

    Mr 10 played golf with Daddy, Mr 7 didn’t 😁

    We’re excited for the last five days of the Challenge! Bring it on.

  • Day 6: non-cardio activities

    Five hours of painting doesn’t count as cardio, but it sure feels like an activity 😊

    Mr 10 had his last soccer game of the season this morning. Both dudes wanted to bake a surprise cake for one another, which is how we ended up with two chocolate cakes for dessert.

    Friday lunchtime circuit session at Tapuae Gym @ Otago Polytech. A great group of people, always motivating to work out with them.

    Mr 10 scootered to school today.

  • Day 4: basketball, cycling and reno

    Mr 7 spent his break time at school playing basketball; Mr 10 rode his bike to school.

    While my activity wasn’t cardio per se, I’m deciding it still counts as an active day: five hours of interior painting and removing floors.

    I also spent 4 hours painting - not exactly cardio, but definitely felt like an activity 😁

    Mr 10 ran 4 laps of the school this morning, Mr 7 “spent all of lunchtime playing tennis with Rocco and Ethan”.

  • Active kiddos, Day One

    Mr 10 and Mr 7 had their weekly soccer skills session for an hour at the Edgar Centre today, with Coach Nick.

    Mr 7 says: “At school, I ran three laps around the pump track. It used lots of my breath”

    Mr 10 says: “I’m proud of doing two laps around the school this morning; I didn’t feel very well over the weekend.”

    Day One of our Cardio for Cancer Challenge 2025 is showing up in style with a sunny Dunedin morning!

    Thank you so much to those who have already signed up or donated. If you can, spread the word and get others involved. Anyone can sign up, right until the end of the challenge on 5 September.

    For now though: happy moving, everyone! Let's chase those goals!
