12hr hike and bike solo event raising money for Autism New Zealand, taking part in my own backyard of the Coromandel.

Waikato

The event I am hosting is a 12hr bike and hike route that would be planned individually and the event is just me doing this route myself. It will be local to my hometown area of the Coromandel and I am hoping to have support along the way and possibly live stream on social media platforms.

The reason for doing this is that it will be a first route that I will be doing as no one has done it before but most importantly I want to raise awareness as my nephew has Autism and he is an incredible human. I would like to support him and extend that support to the Autism New Zealand foundation who support so many families in need which is an incredible undertaking.

Autism is currently estimated to be present in 1 in 59 people. It is not a mental illness, but a neurological difference - one of many variations of neurodiversity.

Every person living with autism is unique, with a wide range of skills, qualities, interests, and personality styles. As the saying goes, "if you have met one person with autism, you have met one person with autism.
