What kind of happenstance is it that when you put sunscreen on for a bike ride… it rains?!

After a few weeks of no training because of flu, work events and wild wind, today we knew we needed to get some time in the saddle.

So we set off at 7am, before the rain and wind arrived, and smashed it… 100km! 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

It may have been a slow pace and we certainly struggled over the last hilly 15km, but a big step towards the 160km Lake Taupō Cycle Challenge.

We are doing hard things. ❤️

Yeah you can!! What seemed impossible maybe a while ago is already coming to so close to reality. However hard it gets… no doubt it’s not as hard as living with Parkinson’s and I bet that thought of dad helps u keep those legs turning 😘

Today I really wasn’t feeling a training ride… but my chief bike motivator (the husband) was!! 🚴‍♀️

So, this afternoon we got out and tackled our longest training ride yet — 76km and 1,144m of climbing! Still slow. And honestly, still wondering how we’ll get to 160km. But… we’re doing hard things.
