Making my half-marathon mean something more; donate to the Christchurch Shooting Victims Fund.
Canterbury
I'm too heartbroken to write much. I'm running the Berlin Half Marathon in three weeks' time. I'm undertrained and absolutely underprepared, and there have been times when I've actually thought about quitting and not running the race. But if I can use this race to fundraise even a small amount of money for the victims of the horrifying, racist attack in Christchurch, then it will have been worth it.
All the money fundraised will go directly to the Christchurch Shooting Victims' Fund.
I want to help because I am absolutely horrified by the events in Christchurch, where I lived for two years. As a New Zealander away from home, this seems like the least I can do.
Thank you so much! 7 April 2019
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who donated to this fundraiser. We made $1000 NZD on the dot, for the victims of the horrifying atrocity in New Zealand, and for their families.
I'm off to run my slowest half marathon ever on a beautiful spring morning in Berlin, and my heart will be full knowing how many people are with me on this run. Love to you all, here's to a peaceful world of tolerance and understanding.
