Fundraising for Parkinson's New Zealand

Running for Dad!
On 1 May 2027, I’ll be taking on the full Rotorua Marathon. All 42.2 kilometres of it to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s New Zealand.
This one is very close to my heart. My dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at just 49, and over the past 12 years I’ve seen how much strength, patience and resilience it takes to live with the condition.
So, naturally, I decided the best way to honour him was to voluntarily run for several hours and question all of my life choices 😅
I’m also doing this as part of my own comeback after having my son, by emergency C-sec in August 2025. Getting back into running has been a slow rebuild, and training for a marathon will be a huge challenge, but it feels incredibly meaningful to do it for my Dad.
There will be early mornings, sore legs, long runs, snacks(many schnacks), probably a few tears, and definitely plenty of dramatic “why am I doing this?” moments. But every kilometre will be for my Dad and for the many people and families affected by Parkinson’s.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much and help support the important work Parkinson’s New Zealand does.
Thank you for backing me on this heartfelt mission 💙
