Taking on my first marathon to raise funds for Mercy Hospice
Auckland
On Saturday, May 4th, I'll be taking on the '60th Anniversary' Rotorua Marathon, a 42km journey around the shores of Lake Rotorua, to raise funds for Mercy Hospice.
Last year, Mercy Hospice provided invaluable support to my family during the final weeks of my father-in-law's life. Their care and assistance meant the world to us, and we'll always be thankful for their support during such a challenging time.
It's likely that at some point in our lives, we'll all encounter hospice services. Yet, it's often only when we need them that we truly appreciate the incredible work these people do. Their services come completely free of charge.
For those who knew Steve, you'll remember how his energy could light up any room and spread to everyone around him. I'm aiming to tap into some of that infectious energy during my final weeks of training, and hope it carries me across the finish line on race day.
Please support generously if you can.
Thank you.
