  • Only 5 days to go!

      14 January 2022

Thank you so much to everyone who has given and supported this event so far - you are amazing. I'm really looking forward to finally doing it this Thursday! Leaving Pukekohe at 6.00am, here I come!

I am still hopeful I can raise the $5050 target so please help me by sharing with your networks. If you're in Auckland on Thursday come and cheer me on, or run a section with me if you're really keen!

An update! Finally, we got here with a new and slightly modified version of the pre-lockdown event.

The 50k Run for recovery is all about connection in Tāmaki Makaurau. The run will officially launch the Speed Freaks in Auckland of which I am excited to be the Programme Lead.

The event will highlight the connections we are building across the city and the positive impacts that can be achieved through the vehicle of running and walking. I will be joined, at various points, along the route by our volunteer coaches and Speed Freaks. Anna Christophorou (Programme Director), and Leo Coles (Consumer Rep), will also be up from Christchurch.

Scheduled for Thursday the 20th of January starting from Pukekohe and taking in the following stops, concluding at Odyssey Adult Residential in West Auckland at 3.00pm.

    • Pukekohe – 6 am

    • Friendship House , Manukau – 9 am

    • Epsom Lodge – 11am

    • K Road Merge Café – 12 – 1.30 pm

    • The Drug Foundation – 2pm

    • Odyssey House – Kai and Finish 3pm

Thank you for your patience and support up to this point. If you would like to be involved on the day, please contact me. Happy New year!

  • Pending alert level 2

      5 November 2021

Kia ora everyone. with some disappointment I am going to have to push this event back a couple more weeks. It will occur as soon as we are in level 2 lockdown restrictions (or something resembling this if the traffic light system kicks in). This is due to the numbers we are expecting and I need to ensure we don't inadvertently spread Covid! I'll update this site as soon as I have a new date. I will also be pushing hard to reach the fundraising target so watch this space for a stream of social media action!
