Fundraising for Parkinson's New Zealand
Nationwide
On 13 February 2027, my step mum and running coach Anja and I are taking on something that currently sounds like a fantastic idea… A 50KM ULTRA MARATHON! And this time, we’re not just running for the challenge. We’re running for Dad. Dad is living with Parkinson’s disease, and watching someone you love navigate a disease that can change so much about everyday life is incredibly hard. So we wanted to take something we both love. running, and turn it into something that can help make a difference. But while Dad is the reason this journey is so close to our hearts, this run is for everyone living with Parkinson’s. For the people waking up every day and facing the challenges that come with the disease. For the families, partners, friends and carers standing beside them. For those who are newly diagnosed, those who have been battling for years, and those who refuse to let Parkinson’s define who they are. And for the hope that one day, we can find better treatments, better support and, ultimately, a cure. 50 kilometres is going to bloody hurt. If you’d like to support us, whether it’s $5, $10, $20, a share, a message of encouragement or simply following along with our journey, every little bit counts. We might be the ones putting one foot in front of the other, but we’ll be carrying a whole lot of people with us. For Dad. For every person battling Parkinson’s. And for a future without it. Here’s to 50K. Let’s bloody do this!!!
