Participating in Team Diabetes The Nelson Half – Festival of Running
Nelson / Tasman
Tate and his friends Luca and Cooper (along with their families) are excited to participate in the upcoming Nelson Half Festival of running, running 5K to raise funds for Diabetes NZ Nelson Youth. For Tate, living with type 1 diabetes has taught him the importance of community and support. Every step they take in this run is not just about fitness; it’s a celebration of the friendships and connections that help him navigate the challenges of diabetes.
Diabetes NZ Nelson Youth is a vital resource for Tate and lots of other kids in our community providing education, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. He knows that having type 1 is easier with the right support system. His friends have rallied around him, dedicating their time and energy to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to their hearts. Together, they aim to inspire others facing similar challenges, showing that with teamwork and determination, anything is possible.
The team has set a goal to not only raise money but also to foster understanding and compassion within their community. Each dollar raised will go toward initiatives that support youth with diabetes, helping them lead more empowered lives. As they lace up their running shoes, Tate and his friends and family are ready to make a difference, proving that friendship and support can truly go the distance. Join them in their journey to make a positive impact!
