Please help us raise $6,000 for the Mobility Dog Placement Camp so Mykal can have a level of independence he has never had before
Bay of Plenty
Mykal is a 15 year old with Cerebral Palsy. He is so excited to be getting a Mobility Dog that will allow him to experience a level of independence he has never had before. Having a trained Mobility Dog will mean he will be able to be at home alone for periods of time or out in the community without human support - the dog will be able to call for help, open doors, turn on lights, open lifts, give cash/card to retail assistants or bus drivers - all things Mykal can't do on his own.
It costs $50,000 to train a dog. Our costs are $6,000 for the Placement Camp for Mykal, his Mum and a Support Worker to learn how to work with the dog. The rest of the costs are covered by generous people/organisations directly to the Trust. Placement Camp starts 24th March.
Mykal has been selected to receive a Mobility Dog to increase his independence and we are raising funds to attend Placement Camp in March/April 2019. Any additional funds raised will go into the Mobility Dog Assistance Trust general fund to help other dogs to be trained
