I'm cutting my hair and donating it to be made into a wig. Money raised will be donated to Cranford Hospice. Please help me to help others.
Hawke's Bay
My Name is Abbie and I'm 12 years old.
After watching youtube videos of girls in America cutting and donating their long hair to be made into wigs for people in need, I decided it would be something I would like to do. This was a really big decision as I have had long hair most of my life.
I have not had my hair cut for two years and now that it is down to my waist it's certainly long enough to be cut and used in making a wig. (It needed to be at least 14 inches in length)
I am a caring person and think of others, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to raise as much money as I can to help others. My hair will be made into a wig for someone in need and the money I raise will also go to people needing care. I have chosen to support Cranford Hospice and the money received for my hair and through other fundraising will all go to Cranford Hospice.
The goal of Cranford Hospice is to help people with a terminal illness make the most of their lives, to live every moment in whatever way is important to them.
Cranford Hospice receives some funding from Government but financial support from the community is essential to meet the shortfall.
I would love it if you could help me to support people in need by making a donation.
My hair will be cut on Friday 16th June 2017 by Milton of Milton Andrews Hair Salon in Havelock North at 3:30pm

Our daughter Abbie made a big commitment two years ago to grow her hair and to then donate it so it could be used in the manufacture of a wig.
Abbie has done all of the research around this and it has been a continual focus for her over the two years. She has spent hours online searching for natural hair conditioning treatments and growth stimulating treatments. (Who would have thought that Egg, Honey and Coconut oil smothered on the head then wrapped in foil could be so good)
She has reached her goal and now the day is here for her to lose those beautiful fine golden strands that have defined her since a small child.
Mum and I are super proud Abbie we love you and adore your caring nature.
