Kia ora furiends, I'm Arya! Help me suppawt Dementia Wellington by sponsoring my "tis the Seas-Sun Beach Bash"!
Wellington
Kia Ora! My name is Arya and I’m a 7 year old retradoodledor (a paw-some mix of golden retriever, poodle, and Labrador). I think beaches are fur-bulous and I’m fur-tunate to have the op-paw-tunity to combine my love for beaches with a charity that I am paw-ssionate about and who do paw-sitive work for the Wellington community. I am joining my fur-iends at Dementia Wellington as an ambassa-dog and hope-fur-lly you can join me on this su-paw adventure !
Dementia Wellington sup-paw-ts people with dementia and their carers in Kāpiti, Porirua, Wellington, and the Hutt Valley. Dementia is an umbrella term for a group of neurological conditions that affect the brain causing progressive deterioration in memory, thinking, and behaviour. Dementia Wellington do im-paw-tant work throughout the Greater Wellington community; they offer advice, programmes, and services that encourage people with dementia to live well (check out their website for more in-fur-mation). As a local charity, every dollar they raise stays in the wider Wellington region and goes directly towards helping local families affected by Dementia to live well and remain active and engaged in our community.
From the 1st of November until New Years Day I am aiming to visit every main beach from Oriental Bay to Red Rocks (11 of them!) to raise money and awareness for Dementia Wellington. Follow my journey and sponsor me if you can, and share your own beach photos (Wellington or anywhere else!) with the hashtag #DogsForDementiaWellington and #ambassadog to spread awareness and help me get to my goal of $1,000 before Christmas!
