    And just like that, we’re done!

    With your incredible generosity and kindness we managed to not only get to the finish-line, but EXCEED it by $10,000 (that’s a whopping $30,856 in total - wowzers)!

    This is a truly exciting achievement and a real testament to each and every one of you who have shown such dedication and kindheartedness towards our very special cause.

    We would also like to personally thank the Presbyterian Hospital Trust, Mike Pero Foundation, Mazda Foundation, Lottery Individuals with Disabilities and the CCS Disability Action / Jubilee Trust, for their generous grants towards our fundraiser. They are wonderful organisations that truly care about improving the lives of those with disabilities.

    Olivia is benefiting so much from her daily interactions with Nellie - the unconditional, nonjudgmental love and companionship Nellie provides is more than we could ever have wished or hoped for. Thank you again for your generosity - fundraising would have been so much more difficult without you! xox

  • AN UNEXPECTED EFFECT

    We thought it was about time for an update!

    Nellie has settled incredibly well into our quirky family - it feels like we have had her forever! Each morning, Nellie has a blast racing around at the beach with a stick in her mouth, she equally enjoys suiting up in her work jacket for her very serious role of supporting Olivia in the community - we are incredibly grateful to have her in our lives.

    Speaking of community … it has been amazing to experience the impact Nellie herself has had on the people around us when we are out and about. We’ve kind of grown used to people staring and whispering when we pass them by, but with Nellie, it seems people like to smile and engage us in positive conversation instead - it’s great! If a smile conveys acceptance, friendliness and social availability, Olivia is receiving some very different (and quite wonderful) messages from society - we love it! None of this would have been possible without the incredible response we have received from so many people (and you are one of them). It is truly, truly an extraordinary act of generosity. Thank you.

  • NELLIE HAS ARRIVED

    The long-awaited Nellie has joined our family - she is beautiful, she is gentle and she is very much loved already. Oh, and did you know, we are almost at the halfway point with our fundraising?! Whoopee!!

    Thank you all SO much; to our wonderful family and friends, our Trade Me purchasers (yes, we know, it's hard to believe Julia keeps managing to find things to sell on Trade Me), and those givers we have never even met - it is an understatement to say how overwhelmed we have been by your generosity. We are incredibly humbled and grateful beyond words.
