Running Queenstown Half (Nov 2020) to fundraise for Myeloma NZ (Dad was diagnosed in May 2020
Auckland
Hi everyone, my names Vic.
My dad was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma (MM). MM is a cancer that forms in the white blood cells in the bone marrow. It can damage bones, the immune system, kidneys and red blood cell count. For the past three months, Dad has been undergoing treatment and is showing great progress.
During this journey, I became aware of the work done by Myeloma NZ. They play an integral part in improving survival, supporting patients and raising awareness. Treatment has come leaps and bounds in New Zealand in the last decade partly due to the work of Myeloma NZ. Helping people with MM maintain a stronger quality of life and ability to live longer than the usual prognosis.
I will be running the Queenstown Half on 21 November 2020 and thought it would be a great motivator to get fundraising as well. Please feel free to donate a couple of dollars if you so please, the more the merrier.
Many thanks and see you at the finish line,
Vic :)

Myeloma stormed into our lives after lockdown. Dad went straight into treatment and has been beating the 'bastard' ever since. Myeloma NZ plays an integral role in improving survival, supporting patients and raising awareness.
Taupo Ultra 9 October 2020
Hi all,
In the spirit of training, tomorrow I will be pacing my mate Sam Hulbert for the last 24km of his 100km ultra marathon.
Wish me luck.
Vic
